This was the major point or idea that came out of our sharing:

* It is important to go public with our goals and dreams.

Some shared that going public was scary because they may not achieve the goal and then have to face there friends and relatives. Everyone agreed that this has crossed their minds however those who have seen greater successes shared some interesting practices they use. (Most of this is nothing new)

* Maintaining your self perception. (This is the underlying thread)

* Be emotionally involved.

* Control your emotions, control your actions.

* Have activities / routines that enhance your attitude.

* Create a vivid, visual, image of your dream (we all have them).

* Write down your dream, in great detail (extremely important).

* Review your dream daily and build on its detail.

Ask yourself this one question and then write the answer down.

- If money were no object and you could have exactly the sort of life style you wanted, what sort of life do you have?

List 50 reasons why you deserve that life stly. Paint a picture of you in that life style. Give that picture a day, month and year that it happens. The more reasons, the more detail the more unstoppable you are at achieving your creation.

This is meant to be an emotional exercise; I know the conversation I was a part of was.

If Network Marketing is a field of business that interest you then making mistakes will become a close friend. There is no one out there in any field of work that hasn’t made a load of errors or mistakes.

The key thing to remember, the secret if you will, is that all success is a series of errors and mistakes.

Have you ever stopped and realized that a mistake is proof that you are doing something right. Take it one step further and realize that a string of mistakes leads you to successful leadership. Why is this true?

Have you ever been around when a small child is going from crawling to being able to walk. How many times has that child fallen on their behind or stumbled and hurt themselves? I guarantee more times than you can count and yet every child has been successful (given there is no disease or accident).

With this being said, you have the blue print for success, you already hold the key for moving toward what ever you want. There is a phrase that should be posted to your bathroom mirror -

Do It, Do It Now!

Creating a list of names of like minded people is a process of trial and error.

1. You must decide what product or service you’re going to build around.
2. Determine the demographics to target.

• Age group

• Income levels

• Hobbies/interest …

Now it’s time to determine how you will find these like minded people. I am sure you have heard of “your warm market”; those who are your friends, family, work associates, team members from sports and church members who you see regularly. These are the people you know.

I have determined there are two types of people. I call them

• PYK      (People You Know)
• PYDK   (People You Don’t Know)

These are also referred to as your circle of influence. You might guess you’ll have greater success with the first group at first however, the second group (PYDK) are your fields of dreams that will join and expand your (PYK) gold mine.

This trial and error process takes time and the amount of time is totally dependent on you.There are several elements that play part in your list building process. All of them co-exist in a fine balance that is continually attended too. You make mistakes, learn from them and take action again.

You will get to a point where you will have a level of success but it wont be where you want to be. This place is refer d to as a plateau or the invisible ceiling.  What is happening at this point of your growth is you’re not able to notice the subtle changes that must take place.

You created the plateau, you are part of it and therefore can not see what needs to change or be put into place to rise to a newer level. These changes and/or actions are minuet and takes an external perception to perceive.

This is when a trainer or mentor is needed. A good trainer or mentor will not take you as an apprentice unless they see you are making mistakes.

If you’re not willing to make mistakes, who wants you on their team?

I feel bad for Scentsy Independent Consultants because I’ve been where you are right now. I have struggled to grow my “warm market” and to be everything to everyone.

You like the product. You like the company. You have bought all the promotion products and flyers. You have the cookie cutter web site. You have traveled the endless miles and you are wondering why? Why you haven’t reached your goals. Why “they” don’t get it; what is it they don’t see?

So what can you learn from this?

This emphasizes the point that you really don’t own the network marketing business.  The people who you interact with and have joined you really are the business. Time:

It is not different for you or anyone else. Those who enjoy the MLM/Networking lifestyle that resembles what you want, and can have, do not have longer days. As a matter of fact, those who live life on their own terms are not concerned with time.

I was listening to one of my mentors, David Wood, just the other night. He was interviewing a leader in the network marketing industry, I don’t remember his name right off the top of my head, and he mentioned how important it is to live in the “moment”; not to be worried about tomorrow and leave yesterday where it is, in the past.

The word moment refers to the present but it is not confined with a beginning or and end. A moment is an undefined length of time.

If you really want to own your time and not be owned by it then take action. Stop thinking confining thoughts. Take the first step and start finding solutions to your challenges. Live in the moment and know your out come will be greater than you could imagine.

Space:

So many times when you hear the word space you limit yourself by thinking in the physical world. There is something very elemental about space that you forget about as a human being; Space has no limits or boundaries and houses all.

For the moment lets consider the context of our topic – you.

The space of which I speak of is quite time when you are not interrupted for at least 30 minutes and hopefully 45 to 60 minutes. This can be anywhere. My space is in the bathtub early morning. I lie there just listening to what ever thoughts come into my mind. I can not tell you how many times I come out of that space with clear understanding and direction.

Mentors:

If you wish to become a master piece that will influence and inspire others for years even centuries to come then you must take the path less traveled. You must learn what it takes to lay the ground work, how to look upon a piece of stone and know how to strike it and if a particular stone is even right for the vision you see.

No one just picks up a chisel and produces a master piece on the first strike; this is where the mentor comes in. It takes someone who is where you want to be and doing what you want to be doing who can teach you how to use time and be in the moment. Your space will enable you to find/create the you that is in your minds eye.

A true mentor will not expect you to be just like them however, they will expect you to listen and learn. Learn the principles behind using the tools and why the tools work together.

Of course you do but did you learn any thing from them or from the thousands of others just like them?

Well maybe you did.  If you did and you’re reading this then you are part of the 3%.  You are the one we’re all writing about.

Yes that’s right, the secret to getting the best MLM leads is held by the top three percent of all Network marketers; online or off. The Secret to lead generation in an MLM or any Networking Business isn’t the amount of people you know (however that never hurts). It isn’t how great your copy write is (yet copy writing is very important). It’s not how great looking your blog or website is (which never hurts if you can find your way around). Impatience is the real destroyer here. Impatience clouds the mind with unnecessary worries and concerns. Impatience causes you to jump from thing to thing, never allowing time to formulate  strategies for a plan of execution.

On the other hand, you read about people  and hear names that continually surface in articles, on videos and are interviewed on webinars’ who  pressed on beyond the “if’s” and “had I just…” and never took their eyes of their goals and dreams.These individuals exercised patience and persistence.

Any MLM business requires that you stick with it. There is no magic machine that will just crank out the leads and wham! There is no big bang system. If you want to have the character and the mental abilities that are needed to generate the Best MLM Leads that will seek you out. Then there is a process that must occur and systematic actions that provide for replication.

I have made the mistakes. I have had to learn and I have had to grow. Let me tell you all the trials are worth it. Looking back, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am grateful for who I have become and what I have to offer.

What I am saying is that there are too many dis-functional families in this world. Therefore, there are too many dis-functional MLM groups in this world! Why is it you can’t get out of our own graves. Yes I said graves. Because, if you wont wake up to this fact you might as well dig your grave and crawl in. I have come to know and to practice to basic principles that on the surface seem to oppose each other, but in reality build and complement each other.

• First is the principle of Love.
• Second is the principle of Logic.

Many people today see love as  something soft, caring and protecting.  And Logic as  hard, uncaring and insensitive.  These are not the correct definitions. The love you feel for your group may be based on caring and wanting to protect yet it is anything but soft. The logic that is used may appear hard yet again it is based on caring and being sensitive to the fact they, your down line, must face the difficulties.

Use phrases and questions like:

• I’m sure that must be difficult for you.
• What do you feel is the best course of action?

This approach enables your down line the maintain control and responsibility of their business.

Just as a Parent is to the family so must you as a Leader be to your group.  Being the leader of your group you may want to protect the group from all the mistakes you made.  You will find your self doing for them instead of letting them do for themselves.

STOP!  This is Wrong!

They have to go through the steps if they are going to grow and become leaders as you are.  So what are these steps that must happen? As the leader you are really teaching and training so that when they are ready they can say: “I recognize this situation, I’ve encountered this before with my coach!”

Preparing your Down Line for the World of Multi-Level Marketing

There is a awesome formula for causing the preparation that takes place. It is such a cool formula, that’s what it’s called – COOL.

• Control
• Ownership
• Opportunity
• Learning

Control is something that is shared. Everyone wants to feel like they’re in control, they know where they are going and how they get there. However, many of us don’t have any experience on what means to take control. That is why it must be shared in the beginning as you guide your followers to become Leaders.

Ownership of their  challenges. As the leader you can not play down or protect your Down Line from the issues and challenges they must experience. If your down line is going to move on you must allow them to stumble and even fall, but you are there to help them get up and move along.

Opportunity for Thinking/Decision making. This is the personal development, the reflecting on the past, adjusting the present to enlarge the future.

Learning by letting Empathy and Consequences do the Teaching. Empathy is the understanding of, feeling for and appreciation of the Down Line’s challenges with out assuming them as yours.

It is at these pivotal points, these learning moments, that leaders need to counsel and direct the down line to find the solution to the challenge at hand. These are not difficult to do at all. In fact that’s what makes them hard. Don’t allow life to rob you of these two activities. These actions are like a sea anchor to a ship on turbulent waters.
1) A daily list. This list is written every morning before you leave your home or begin any social interaction with the outside world. This is not your to do list, something like that could be counter productive as far as you attitude is concerned. No, instead it is a List of “10 Things that make you smile.”

There is no regulation or boundary however; you should find yourself smiling as you write them down. You may find this hard the first couple of times, but you have to at least write down 10 things or activities. The more precise you are the more effective they become. Once you start doing this you’ll find it hard to stop at ten; fifteen or twenty will seem easy.
2) Take time to open and close your day on your knees. Take time to express gratitude. Take time to consider someone else who is in need; whether it is physical, mental or spiritual. Take time for supplication to a higher being that needs nothing and offers everything to those who will receive. Then release it knowing that the powers that be will align things as they need to be.

Told you they aren’t hard. In fact they are so easy they seem of little importance. But never be fooled the simplicity of an action.

If you do these every day and I mean every day. People will be attracted to your countenance and will want to be around you. You don’t have to believe me, but just as soil is to a seed, so are these actions like fertilizer to the soil.

A very good friend of mine use to tell me, “this is worth as much as you’re willing to pay for it”.  And price isn’t always measured by money.
